Locust Street Improvement Project
On August 12, 2019, the Hughson City Council awarded the Locust Street Improvement Project to Ross F. Carroll. Inc, in the amount of $168,300.00 plus contingency. This project is a result of the Joint Project Agreement between the City of Hughson and the Hughson Unified School District. The project includes the partial widening of Locust Street and the installation of sidewalk, curb and gutter on the south side of Locust Street, adjacent to the Hughson Sports and Fitness Complex. The official state date of this project is September 3, 2019 and the contractor is required to complete the work within 30 days.
The City of Hughson advises local residents to be aware of possible delays or inconveniences during the duration of the project.
Hughson City Council Vacancy
At the July 22, 2019 Hughson City Council meeting, Council Member Mark Fontana’s written resignation was accepted by the City Council. The City Council directed City staff to invite applications for the vacant Council seat and determined that an appointment would be made on the September 9, 2019 City Council meeting.
